Vladimir G. Ivanovic, a veteran digital technology professional and school support activist, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of Californians Aware and will also serve as its first Vice President for Digital Community. Mr. Ivanovic worked in high tech for over 25 years before becoming “a full-time dad and an active community volunteer in the Los Altos School District (LASD).” He is the Chair of LASD’s Citizens Advisory Committee on Finance, and has served the district on a number of technology committees. In addition, he has run for the school board and is considering running again. Mr. Ivanovic says he has “strong, long-standing interest in open and transparent government because I believe that community participation in government is essential in a democracy.” He has been an active member of CalAware for several years and most recently played a major role in diagnosing and correcting malfunctions discovered in its web site. He say he “now looks forward to working toward expanding CalAware’s digital presence.” Other recent appointments to the Board include Jeff Gozzo, chief of staff to Senator Ted Lieu (D-Redondo Beach); Kathleen Moran, Colusa County Clerk-Recorder; and Dan Laidman, associate in the Los Angeles office of Davis Wright Tremaine LLP.
