A Yolo County Superior Court judge has ordered a firefighters union local to pay the attorney fees of an online community news organization that had to defend its right to key portions of a report from the City of Davis critical of union leadership.  The city was willing to release that information after settling a lengthy public records lawsuit brought by The People’s Vanguard, but the union obtained a temporary order blocking the access, and insisting that the name of the top union official be removed from the report before release.  That unsuccessful move is costing the union more than $23,000.
