Contributions to CalAware

Donate Now Online

Californians Aware offers membership to all for a very modest requested donation, and most services free to those who need them. We can do this only if those who have more to contribute do so. One way is to become a Founding Funder with a $2,500 or greater gift in any year, or to contribute whatever amount seems appropriate in response to a periodic appeal drive, or at any other time.

Charitable tax deductions

Californians Aware has applied for recognition as a 501(c)(3) charity status by the IRS and for the corresponding designation from California tax authorities, and expects confirmation by late summer of 2004. All contributors will be notified of their entitlement to claim contributions as charitable tax deductions.

Auction items and old vehicles

Once recognized as a tax-deductible charity, Californians Aware will establish an eBay store to auction off unique physical gifts made to our organization for this purpose. If you would like to donate items to the auction, please send them to us and include a letter detailing the estimated fair market value of the items (this will be used to determine your tax deductible charitable donation amount). Check back here in the coming months to find the link to our eBay store.

We will also be establishing an account with a national car donation organization that will make the arrangements for your donation and give Californians Aware a cut of the proceeds of the donation. Check back here towards the end of the Summer for more information on this option.

If you would like to make a contribution to CalAware, contact us today.
